January Champ of the Month: Saul

Saul is a newcomer to the FUN Champs program who is making waves in his community. He is passionate about felines in Fernwood, the Greater Victoria Region, and beyond! Saul has partnered with Helping Homeless Cats of Greater Victoria to spread awareness and educate his community about stray, domestic, and feral cats.

Saul is also an incredible artist. He has chosen to combine his passion for cats and art to create Valentine’s Cards in support of the Helping Homeless Cats of Greater Victoria. If you are interested in supporting Saul, please let us know by contacting funeducationcoordinator@mail.com.

November Champ of the Month: Finn

Finn Kreischer, a 13 year old resident of Victoria, is interested in design, urban planning, and the environment in general. He is a volunteer member of the Sierra Club BC.

Finn’s Passion Project involves helping cities, firstly Victoria, become a better place to live, work, and play in. This begins with bike to school week, which some cities have but not Victoria. He aims to make the bicycle the primary means of transport for kids (also adults); as well as get bikes to children who don’t have access to them. Road training will also be factored in. He is connecting with CRD members, as well as local bicycling communities in order to make this a reality.

When Finn is not thinking about making change for our communities, he enjoys biking, gaming, reading, and being part of the maker movement.

He’s very grateful to have this opportunity, and looks forward to future projects.
